Exclusivity rates

Exclusivity is the brand paying you not to work with its competitors, and it prices on the whole content fee: 30 days adds 25%, 90 days adds 60% in the model. On one Reel at 25,000 followers that is $175 and $425; on a Reel plus Story set package ($1,000 of content) it is $250 and $600.

Assumptions, in one line: Instagram at 25,000 followers (the 25k to 50k band), the baseline niche, about-average engagement. Exclusivity percentages apply to the content lines of the deal, not to the usage line; the model offers 30-day and 90-day windows.

What you are actually selling

Exclusivity is not a vibe; it is the deals you will decline. A skincare brand asking for 90 days of category exclusivity is asking you to turn away every other skincare brief for a quarter, including the ones that would have paid more. The price has to stand in for that lost work, which is why the model charges it on the whole content fee and why the window and the category definition both belong in writing.

Two definitions decide whether an exclusivity clause is fair or a trap: the category (skincare is a category; 'beauty' or 'any competing product' is a land grab) and the start date (posting day, not signing day, unless the brand pays for the gap). Narrow both before you price, then price from the table.

Questions, answered with numbers

How much does exclusivity cost?

In the model: 25% of the content fee for 30 days, 60% for 90 days. On a $1,000 package at 25,000 followers, that is $250 and $600. Longer windows than 90 days are outside the model's standard options and price by negotiation, upward.

Does exclusivity apply to usage too?

No. Exclusivity percentages apply to the content lines. Usage is priced on the video being licensed, separately. A deal can carry both lines, and most ambassador deals do.

Can I still post organic content for other brands during exclusivity?

Only outside the named category, and only if the clause is written that way. Exclusivity binds paid work in the category; a clause that also claims your organic posts or your whole niche is broader than the standard ask and should be priced or refused as such.
