Whitelisting rates
Whitelisting means the brand runs your content as an ad from a handle (yours, or its own via your authorization), and in the model it multiplies the usage line by 1.25x. On one Reel at 25,000 followers, 90 days of whitelisted usage is $575 against $450 for the same term unwhitelisted. This page prices every term both ways.
| Usage term | Usage only | Whitelisted usage | Reel + whitelisted usage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 days | +$175 | +$225 | $925 |
| 90 days | +$450 | +$575 | $1,275 |
| 180 days | +$775 | +$975 | $1,675 |
| 12 months | +$1,225 | +$1,525 | $2,225 |
| Forever | +$2,100 | +$2,625 | $3,325 |
Assumptions, in one line: the base is one Instagram Reel in the 25k to 50k band at the baseline niche and about-average engagement. Whitelisting changes only the usage line; the content price and any exclusivity line are untouched by it.
Why whitelisting costs more than usage
Plain usage lets the brand place your video in its own channels. Whitelisting lets the brand put ad spend behind your identity: your face, your handle, your audience's trust, targeted at people who have never seen you. That borrowed trust is the valuable part, and it is also the risky part (the ad runs under your name), which is why the model charges a multiplier on the usage line rather than treating the two as one ask.
On TikTok the same ask arrives as a Spark Ad code; on Meta platforms as an authorization to run ads from your account. Different buttons, same product: term-limited, priced, and revocable when the term ends. A whitelisting ask with no term is an open-ended loan of your identity; give it a window and a price from the table.
Where this goes wrong
- Handing over ad access in a DM without a term, a price, or a note of what was agreed. The agreement is the protection.
- Pricing whitelisting as a second usage fee at 100%. The model's multiplier is 1.25x on the usage line; bigger asks (category exclusivity on top) are separate lines again.
- Letting a whitelisted campaign keep running past its term because nobody diarized the end date. Put the end date in the invoice notes.
Questions, answered with numbers
How much does whitelisting add?
The usage line times 1.25x. On the worked Reel, 90 days goes from $450 to $575, and forever from $2,100 to $2,625. It never changes the content price itself.
Is whitelisting the same as usage rights?
No. Usage is where the video can run; whitelisting is whose account it runs from, with ad spend behind it. Most whitelisting deals are usage deals with the multiplier applied, which is how the model prices them.
What is a Spark Ad on TikTok, in rate terms?
The same product under TikTok's name: your video, boosted as an ad under your identity, for a set window. Price it as usage for that window with the whitelisting multiplier, and give the code an expiry.
