Rate card
A rate card is your price list: what each format you make costs, and what the extras cost, written down before a brand asks. It turns what do you charge from a guess made under pressure into lines you already decided.
What it means for your money
A rate card does not raise your prices by itself. It stops the quiet discounts: the usage given away, the extra Story absorbed, the exclusivity never priced, because each one already has a line and a number before the negotiation starts.
How the pricing model treats it
The pricing model is what fills a rate card: it prices each deliverable first, then usage, exclusivity, and whitelisting as their own lines. BravoDM's free calculator runs that model, and the public rate card page it seeds is free to publish.
In practice
- ·Carry the rights lines, not just the content lines: usage, exclusivity, and whitelisting, each with its price.
- ·A rate card is a starting position, not a promise. You can choose to charge less on purpose; the card makes it a choice.
- ·Update it when your audience or your work changes. A stale card negotiates against you.
An example
Priya's rate card is BravoDM's worked example: 1 Reel $700, 1 Story set $300, 90 days of usage $450. A $1,450 package, with every line visible to the brand and to her.
